Statement of Activities
Be clear and concise with the brief descriptions of your activities. You don’t want us to guess.

References
Review the Teacher and Community Reference questions before selecting your references and choose referees who can best answer the questions. UBC Major Entrance Scholarships are available for both our Vancouver campus and Okanagan campus.

UBC Entrance Awards

These awards support academically qualified students who show an interest in joining the UBC community, and who would not otherwise be able to attend without significant financial assistance.

Nomination packages are due on February 28, 2012.

Tips for Success

Clearly and concisely describe you and your family’s financial circumstances and what makes it necessary for you to apply for an Entrance Award. Explain your interest in joining and contributing to the UBC community and how receiving this award will impact your personal situation now and in the future.

Personal Reference
Review the Personal Reference questions before choosing a reference who can best answer the questions. Your reference should be well-acquainted with you and should address all related award criteria.

Would it be possible for me to hand in my application in person at UBC instead of mailing it?

    • Jason Kwok says:

      Hi Michelle,

You can certainly hand in your application by hand during our office hours.

      Regards,
      Jason

    Hi,

Sorry I forgot to ask this but are Quebec’s CEGEP students eligible to apply? We are not considered as university students, but at the same time we are not high school or college students?

    Thank you

  3. Jeremy says:

Are Canadian applicants for the Bachelor’s of Computer Science Program eligible to apply for these scholarships?

    • Jason Kwok says:

      Hi Jeremy,

Thank you for your comment! The listed scholarship opportunities are only available for Canadian students entering from High School. At this time, students entering the Bachelor’s of Computer Science, Integrated Computer Science (ICS) program, are not eligible because they are required to enter the program with an undergraduate degree and not from High School.

      Regards,
      Jason

  6. Jenny says:

    Hello,

For BC applicants, would the performance in the courses besides the top four affect the chances of admission? Also, would taking more than four UBC approved courses increase the chance of been admitted?

    Thank you in advance,
    Jenny

    • Kathryn Mudie says:

      Hi Jenny,

Thank you for your comment! Applicants are evaluated on a broad range of criteria. Admissions will look at a combination of your grades and your personal profile. Taking more than the required courses could show that you are a more well rounded applicant and strengthen your application. This can also happen through, for example, community involvement, work experience or playing on a sports team. If you would like more information about how your individual application will be evaluated, don’t hesitate to contact us.

      Regards,

      Kathryn
